USFBL - 2014 - 18th No - Hitter!

Alex Wood(8-4) thrilled the fans at Miller Park as he crafted a no-hit master piece against the Misty Mountain Hoppers.  The Hawaii Poi Pounders won by a final score of 6 to 0.

Wood was just too much for Misty Mountain.  He walked 3 Misty Mountain batters.  The tension started to build around the 6th inning.  By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified.  Hawaii finished with just 6 hits in the victory.

Jake Peavy(4-8) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 3 hits and 1 walk in 5 innings.  'Not in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen!' Wood said as he stood at home plate to salute the fans.  'Once I got into the later innings, I decided to challenge every hitter, and that turned out to be the
right decision!'
